Fall Break Kid's Camp

Register Here

Join us for Fall Break Kid's Camp at Pecar Park!

Fall Break Camp will be based out at our newest park, Pecar Park located at 5203 E. CR 150 N in Avon.  Campers will spend most of their time outdoors if weather permits. Each week will have a nature theme with plenty of outdoor activities such as challenges on our low ropes obstacle course, gaga ball, carpet ball, 9 square in the air, campfires, visits from our park naturalist with animal friends, cooking, crafts, sports and lots more! See below for more information on scheduled activities.

Structure and planning are very important but we also believe in letting the kids use their imagination. If the kids come up with a fun and safe activity that the counselors agree on....... we are doing it! As parents ourselves, we believe that the kids are structured and scheduled all school year long. Camp is a place to explore, imagine and be a kid. In a world of technology, there is nothing wrong with just being a kid.

As always, Avon Kids Camp remains committed to maintaining a safe, clean and healthy environment for our staff and campers. In partnership with the American Camping Association (ACA),we are closely monitoring information about COVID-19 and are actively discussing the latest updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Camper Health Guidelines
  • At drop off each morning a counselor will ask the parent/guardian if the child has had a cough, fever or shortness of breath in the last 72 hours.  If the answer is yes, the camper will NOT be allowed to attend camp until they have been symptom free for 72 hours.
  • If a camper develops a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher  or consistent cough during the camp day a parent will be notified immediately to come pick the camper up.  The camper may return after being symptom free for 72 hours.
  • Parents are responsible to let the Camp Director know immediately  if their child has symptoms or has been diagnosed with a Communicable Disease.
  • Camp staff will care for minor bumps and bruises and notify parent/guardian immediately through our online Injury Report sent by email.
  • Parent/Guardian will be notified immediately if a camper becomes ill or sustains an injury of a serious nature.
  • Please do not bring your child to camp if they feel ill, or have had a fever, coughing,  vomiting or diarrhea.
  • A child must be fever and cough free for 72 hours and 24 hours for vomiting and diarrhea.
  • Please do not bring children who have lice or are injured to the extent to where they cannot participate in activities without the possibility of further injury.
Prevention at Camp From COVID 19:
We will be implementing several new policies to assure that we are doing everything in our power to lessen the spread of germs at camp.
Drop off: Parents will be dropping off using our new drive through service.  Cars will pull up to the drop off location at the metal barn. The Avon Kids Camp banner will hanging from the porch.  The lead counselor will come to your car window and ask the parent/guardian questions about fever and cough. Counselors may check the campers temperature using a forehead thermometer. Campers will then split into small groups of 10 or less for activities in the barn and/or Nature Center.  Smaller groups and social distancing will be a priority.
During lunch:  Campers will stay with their groups of 10 and have a picnic style lunch through out the park with their counselor instead of everyone eating in the barn like past years. Each camper will be supervised with hand washing before they eat. Lunch time will also be cleaning time to sanitize all equipment that has been used by staff and campers including the barn, Nature Center and bathrooms.
Pick up: Pick up will occur just like drop off at the metal barn.  Parents will pull up to  the barn and show the counselor your pick up pass and a counselor will get your child, sanitize their hands and load then into your car.  Everything that was touched by campers and staff during the day will be sanitized and ready for the next morning.

Counselors will be given a bin that is designated for their group with all the supplies that they need for the daily activities. The supplies will only have contact with that group and then sanitized periodically throughout the day.
Camper Restrooms will be cleaned multiple times during the day.. Campers will not use the park drinking fountain but rather have their water bottles refilled by their counselor with bottled water.
Campers will be asked to wash hands a few extra times during the day. Hand washing steps will be placed on the walls in the bathrooms for campers to follow. Masks will be required for campers and counselors when they can not be 6ft. apart. Masks can be removed when campers are outdoors playing strenuous activities.  Small groups and social distancing will be a priority throughout the day as well.
