​Scheduling:
Field Trips are available on Tuesdays & Thursdays, between the hours of 10am-4pm. To schedule a field trip, or for additional information call (317) 503-2718. We recommended calling at least one month prior to your desired trip date as the calendar does fill.

Field Trip Options:

• On-site Field Trips: On-site, hour-long field trips are $4/student with a $40 minimum. Parents and chaperones are free with a suggested adult-to-child ratio of 1:8. Programs are limited to 50 students/hour. Larger groups can be accommodated, please call for details.
• Extended Field Trips: Longer programming and multiple subjects are an option. Programs are $4/student for the first hour, and then $1/student for each additional hour of programming.
• Off-site Field Trips: These outreach programs are 45 minutes long and are $50/class, with a maximum of 100 students. Mileage fees will be added to programs outside of Hendricks County.
• Virtual/Zoom Field Trips: Digital field trips allow participants to explore the natural areas of Pecar Park or meet the nature center animals without leaving the classroom. Digital programs are 30-45 minutes long and are $30/class. Most of our regular field trip offerings can be adapted to virtual programs.

Lunch:
Groups are invited to bring picnic lunches before or after programs. Lunch facilities are only available outside. Please advise nature center staff at the time of scheduling if this is planned.

​Weather Policy
All programs will be conducted outdoors rain or shine. Students must dress appropriately for the weather. If severe weather arises during the students’ visit they will be moved indoors. If it arises prior to the students’ arrival nature center staff will contact groups and reschedule if possible.


Payment:
Payment is expected in full on the day of the program. Credit and checks are accepted. Check should be made payable to Washington Township Parks.


Cancelation Policy
Cancelations or changes to your reservation must be made at least one week prior to your scheduled field trip. Cancelations with less than one week notice will be charged half of the expected program fee. Nature center staff will notify teachers the morning of the program if it must be canceled due to inclement weather.
