Sensory Swim

Experience calm water exploration at our Sensory Swim sessions held at Murphy Aquatic Park every Tuesday. During this time, the Wave Pool is turned off ensuring a quieter environment.

The Activity Pool, Toddler Zone, and Central Play Feature remain open, with capacities limited to half to enhance the sensory experience.

FEE: $10 (children under 2 are FREE)

Group Swim Lessons
Ages: 5-13 years old
Sessions Times: 10:10-10:40am OR 6:30-7:00PM

On the first day of swim lessons, all students will be evaluated and placed in the appropriate level based on their swimming abilities.

Levels 1-3 provide your child with the skills needed to survive the water and begin building the foundation for a lifelong love of swimming. Swimmers follow a schedule of progress through three levels of development.

LEVEL 1
Water Exploration: Teaching focuses on safety skills, supported front and back floating, supported proper kicking on front and back (straight leg, pointed toe), beginner front and back crawl, and full-face submersion with underwater exhalation.

LEVEL 2
Primary Skills: Students in this level must be comfortable in the water and have some prior familiarity with swim lessons. Teaching continues to build skills in unsupported floating and proper kicking (straight leg, pointed toe), streamline gliding, rhythmic breathing, and basic front and back crawl strokes.

LEVEL 3
Stroke Readiness: Students in this level must be independent swimmers who do not need the assistance of an instructor for a minimum of ten yards using a competent front crawl stroke with proper kicking. Teaching will improve your child’s unsupported front and back crawl strokes, front and back glides, rhythmic breathing, and water-treading skills.

Parent Tot Swim Lessons
Maximum Age: 2 years old
Session Time: 6:30-7:00pm
Parents/Guardians will be in the water helping their little swimmers learn to enter/exit the water confidently.

Instruction includes: supported front/back float, blowing bubbles, putting face in the water, alternation of arms, assisted front/back kicks, front and back glide with kicks, and water safety.

Swim Tot
Ages: 3-4 years old
Session Time: 10:10-10:40am OR 6:30-7:00pm

Young swimmers ages 3-4, who are ready for lessons without their parent will learn basic skills in a fun atmosphere while developing independence as they become comfortable in the water.

Make Up Lesson Policy:
We swim rain or shine. Lessons continue when it is raining unless we have thunder and lightning present, the bottom of the pool is not visible or it feels like weather is below 68 degrees.

The pool manager will contact parents 1 hour or more before the start of lessons if class is cancelled. Prior to the first day of swim lessons, confirm the contact information for your swimmer.

Fridays are scheduled make up dates for swim lessons cancelled due to weather. No make up swimming lessons will be offered for missed or forgetting swim lessons.
